my manager keeps telling me..."do what it takes to get the shot". i must admit, photography keeps pushing my limits and is breaking me out of my shell. i feel i am not super crazy to get shots but i have...

sprained a knee, gotten deathly dirty, wet,bruised myself, climbed a tree, almost fallen from a tree, trespassed on private property, stepped over the line when one is to stay behind the line, almost been hit by cars, hiked up hills, cut myself, been on the edge and i am sure i pissed off some innocent people. you get the idea.

there is this state of mind i am in when i am walking around with my camera in hand. nothing matters and i am focused on what is before me. i do my best to tote my camera around everyday and my left shoulder would like a break. i love that feeling of artistic freedom, i breathe it in to fuel my soul. it is my release and without it i feel life has no purpose. sounds a little dramatic? well i refuse to live my life without art, music, photography, beautiful minds and words.

i was talking with a friend last weekend about a common ground with philosophy and this common message was...don't fall in love with the world. we went back and forth as to what this means and in the end i am a big sinner because i have fallen in love with the world. i love art. perhaps this love may lose my focus on the social dysfunctions around me. but, i do my part to the best i can.

so like a teenager experiencing their first true love, i will bask in this light and consume my mind with the beauty around me. the one thing about personifying art that may never come to light is...art will never cheat on me, abuse me or leave me alone in the dark.

so i challenge you...give me passion, give me inspiration, give me art, but if you don't do any of those...you have failed me.
